Ind-SL series

We finally found a good wicketkeeper batsman in Dhoni (Dravid was very dynamic in that role too). His ability to clear the ropes is incredible. India's answer to Adam Gilchrist? That will depend on his performance on overseas tours. The current series was really enjoyable with India's best result since the World Cup. In Dravid, we finally have a captain that leads by example. It's good to see that we have talent in numbers and the rotation policy makes sense.

Sri Lanka looked jaded right through and nothing they tried worked. In the past, Jayasuriya and Muralidharan were involved in most wins against India and this time they didn't fire. Murali bowls the doosra so many times that the Indians are beginning to read it well, especially Dravid.

Tendulkar made a good comeback and it was great to watch him at his aggressive best. In the last few series he played, especially the one in Australia, the team strategy required him to protect his wicket and he was totally boring. This time, he reminded me of his performances in Sharjah. His outrageous dismissal against Vaas in the fourth ODI was heartening and thats how he should always play. I was surprised, however, to see that he hasn't figured out Murali’s doosra yet. This was clearly evident in the fag end of the second ODI. Tendulkar was trying to finish off the match and it presented an interesting duel with Murali which the latter clearly won. That contest was the highlight of this series besides Dhoni’s fireworks.

Meanwhile, Sourav who?
