Saat Samundar Paar ki Khabarein

Times of India finally changed its web portal after ages. However, I don't see how the new look is better than the older version. The content continues to be tabloidish. They could very well have called it Bombay Times. The only reason I visit the site is for the e-paper feature which quickly transports you back to your living room sofa in Bombay at around 8:30 am every morning. I can almost smell the dosas and piping hot kapi. They have recently started flashing a threatening 'currently free' sign with claims that future subscriptions will be Rs 50 a month. I won't mind paying but I am sure there will be a much higher priced (read $$$) NRI equivalent. For pure news content, I like the Indian Express portal. For a quick view of top stories of the day, Rediff is pretty good too. Rediff has an Indian version and an India Abroad version which makes you question whether you still consider yourself a part of India or someone outside looking in. NDTV is also worth a mention especially for its subscription offer of live streaming video content. No day is complete without the Mid-day Picture of the day section to remind me of roads traveled in the past. Everything else about Mid-day sucks. Khalid Mohammed had briefly moved to Mid-day so you could read his reviews only in the Mid-day columnists section. He has wisely stepped away. All current Mid-day columnists suck except Rajdeep Sardesai who deserves to write someplace better. Indian Express has really good columnists except Rajeev Shukla who sucks and should be replaced by Rajdeep Sardesai. By the way, I really miss watching Sonia Verma read the evening news on NDTV.

Agreed on Mukul Sharma...I usually gave up real quick on his puzzles in Mindsport...I like him better when he is funny.
